Don’t you just hate PUG’S?

I have been getting very bored of LotrO and I am sick of the new mirkwood instances. I find mirkwood a huge waste of time and money and it should have been a free expansion… anyways moving on ----------->

Due to my epic nature over the past few weeks I have started to get u random pick up groups for any 12man raids. The most popular been the Watcher 12 man raid. You may scream and shout “z0mg noob pugs!” but all my watcher bug groups have had a 100% success rate to date.

To make a perfect Watcher group you just need 12 players who can listen, know how to play there class and can hear you calling the raid over voice communications. What classes should you take to a Watcher raid?

• Guard or Warden
• Burg
• Two Hunters
• Two Mincers
• Two Cappys
• Two Champs
• Lore-Master
• Rune-Keeper or Hunter for the last spot(Ranged DPS needed)

Make sure all the classes have 50+ Radiance and all traits are correct for each class role.

All players should also have 2 Hope tokens what give +5 hope, Base stats food and scrolls do also help. Power and moral pots. Also a good tip would to be ware 3 pieces of the Watcher radiance armour set for the extra acid defence stats. You will find even at level 65 it does make a difference as you can rest the area affect acid damage de-buff quiet often.

Ok so you have your pug, gear, food, hope and are ready to raid.

Time to kill the Watcher and take all his lootz… Hmmmm lootz!
All group up just inside the watcher room. Ask all the players to go into their options > Advanced Graphics and disable Post processing effects. This will help with the lag and you should now be able to see through the water ad see the ugly Watcher. After this is done you, the raid leader wants to add the Tank and Two hunters to the RATS(Raid Assist Target). Make sure you have a Mincer and Cappy in each group. Make up your player with a Target marker so all the players can see you and know to stay close to you on the first phase of the fight. When all this is done, one person in each group should use a hope token, all players eat food and cappys buff the groups.

Fight time – Phase 1
All run in towards the middle and when the watcher comes out of the water a message will appear in the middle of your screen we you see this ALL players need to run to the left side of the room and stay out of the deep water as it will only slow you down. If you get hit by the spray of water it will 1 shot you so be warned. Speed in the key in this first phase.
Ok after the watcher going under watcher, all kill the left tentacle. If you see or get any conjunction DO NOT enter them as it will only slow you down and could cause you to wipe. Once the left tentacle is dead all group up in the middle. When the watcher pops u again ALL players move to the far right side of the room. Once the spray is gone then kill the right side tentacle. Also kill any rooting tentacles what spawn and root players.
The Watcher will not pull the bridge down. When this happens ALL players must move onto the bridge. Stay out of the deep Water and kill and rooting tentacles.

Phase 2
Once on the bridge two Massive tentacles will spawn. The Tank should go and tank the left tentacle while the other players kill the right tentacle. Once the right tentacle is down, dps the left tentacle down to 10k. DO NOT kill this tentacle yet. All group up on the right side of the broken bridge. Capps should put there banners down in front of the tentacle as a marker. When a Small Dangling Tentacle gets a player, kill the small one and the nuke the Massive tentacle. Please note that once the left massive tentacle dies, lots of small tentacles will spawn on the group. It is very important that once the massive tentacle dies everyone BUT CHAMPS will move to the Marker (Cappy Banner/s) when this tentacle dies it really helps if the Mincers se Fellowships Heart and cappys use In Harm’s Way and Last stand. This will help the group survive the spawns.
AOE and kill the spawning root tentacles as fast as you can. After 10 seconds of them spawning phase 3 will start.

Phase 3
Ok time for the tricky part.

As soon as the small tentacles are down, the tank needs to get into the deep water and wait for the watcher to come out. The hunters will be range tanking the Massive tentacles and the burg will be only on the watcher.
Two tentacles will spawn. Hunters will strength stance and range tank them.
After they spawn the watcher will come out after 10 seconds. It is very important that the Tank turns the watcher around 180 degrees away from the group. Everyone will then take the right tentacle down to 10k moral. Once it is at 10k DO NOT touch it. Everyone will then burn down the right side tentacle. Once the side tentacle is down, everyone needs to start to hit the watcher. When he spawns another tentacle to the right side nuke the tentacle on the left (The one you left at 10k) and then take the right side tentacle down to 10k and DO NOT touch it. Once it is at 10k all dps the watcher. You will need to repeat this pattern until you kill the watcher. Granted you may not drp it first time but after a few goes and your group gets into a rhythm on the tentacle you will have him down in n time.
Throughout this phase the Lore-Master will be full de-buffs on the watcher. The burglar will always keep disable on the watcher and use conjunctions at any opportunity. I would advise Full greens on any
conjunctions.

The tank may from time to time get dangled so it will be the hunter’s job to get them down. Easy way is to follow the Raid assist target.

Conclusion
The raid is very easy once you get the hang of it and CAN be done with a pug.
I hope my rough guide was of use to anyone who may still be having trouble killing this meanie.
Good luck and thanks for reading my first blog on BurgZurg.
