The Big Spring Time Hunt Is On!

Finally the last snow has melted, the grass is greener than green and colourful little dots of spring flowers are blooming everywhere. What a lucky traveller you are to be wondering through the Shire at such a time of the year! With a spring in your step you are walking towards a little settlement of hobbit houses. Upon drawing closer you can see that a large group of townspeople has gathered at the central square. It looks like all the hobbits from the local area are having a very important meeting. Of course you want to know what is going on and join the back row of intently-listening hobbits.

“Dear friends”, an old and important-looking hobbit standing on a wooden vegetable crate proclaims with a loud voice.

“As we all know, last year we weren’t able to decorate our town in time for the beginning of the spring season and the spring festival.” You notice that many hobbits around you bow their heads in shame after the words have been spoken.

“This year we shall be prepared and will prevent this from happening again. This year we are going to turn our town's decoration into a competition!” All the bowed heads now lift up in anticipation.

“A competition?!” you hear the hobbits question. One of them shouts out, “What fun! What do we need to do and what could we possibly win?”

“The first hobbit that collects all the flowers and plants on this list here…”, the old hobbit points at a list pinned to the big tree next to him, “…will be rewarded with a grand prize!”

Your competitive spirit awakened, you decide that you are going to take part in this competition and be the one to win the grand prize. You shift closer to the big tree to take a look at the list:

• Red Lily
• Red Lovage
• Primrose
• Silverbell
• Spiky Mugwort
• Sharp-thistle
• Violet
• Wildflowers

Your brain immediately starts to whir, thinking of places where you have seen these flowers before. Hopefully you will be able to gather all the flowers and plants first so that not only the hobbits manage to decorate their town in time but you will be the winner of the grand prize.

Icons of the various flowers and plants are hidden among different LOTRO fansites across the internet. Hints on where to look for them will be provided on the LOTRO Europe community website.

It's your job to hunt down the flowers and plants and report their location by copying the codes written next to their icons. Paste this code into the form on our special competition website along with all the other corresponding codes hidden across the sites in order to submit your entry. You could win one of the following prizes if you successfully find all of the flowers and plants and are chosen from the list of winning entries:
