Find Middle-earth! A competition for real adventurers

Some of you might remember the Tolkien Tour series on our Community Blog during which we introduced you to numerous locations in England which provided Tolkien with inspiration for some well-known places in Middle-earth. While out on those trips, we’ve been repeatedly astounded by the similarity between the real-world and the Middle-earth we know from LOTRO.

Now here comes the challenge: How well do you know Middle-earth? How much of an adventurer are you? If you have travelled around and kept your eyes open for details then you’ve surely seen places that could have been inhabited by Elves, Hobbits or Dwarfs.

For this contest, we invite you to go out, hunt down locations that resemble Middle-earth and send us a picture with some text that explains what location in Middle-earth it could be and where you found it. The 10 pictures which impress us the most will be featured on our Community Blog and will receive the following prizes:

• LOTRO/Codemasters Goodie Bags
• LOTRO “Siege of Mirkwood” Hoody
• In-game items for adventurers such as Travel Rations, a Traveller’s Hood, Writ of Special Passage and much more
• Points to spend in the LOTRO Europe Store

The "Find Middle-earth Competition" runs from 7th - 20th April. Entries must be received by Codemasters by 11:59PM UK time (GMT+1), Wednesday 20th April, 2011.

• All entries must be sent as email attachments in .jpg format and under 1MB in size. Filenames should include the entrant’s Codemasters LOTRO forum name for identification.
• To enter the Find Middle-earth competition, send your entry to lotrocompetition@codemasters.com with the subject line "LOTRO Find Middle-earth competition".
• All entries must include the player's name, e-mail address, desired name(s) to credit, PAS account name, postal address and date of birth.
• All entries must be original and created and/or owned exclusively by the player submitting
• The contest is open to registered players with an active account in good standing. The contest begins on 7th April, 2011. Entries must be received by Codemasters by 11:59PM UK time (GMT+1) on Wednesday 20th April, 2011.
• Codemasters will announce the winners on 3rd May, 2011.
• All decisions will be made by Codemasters in its sole discretion and are final. Players who submit a winning entry may be required to execute an Assignment and Release. Failure to execute and return the Assignment and Release within the time frame specified may result in another entry being selected as winner.
• LOTRO Europe Store Points and in game items and goodie bags will be awarded to the person that sends the winning submission as judged by a Codemasters panel.
